Jim Hoover, a clinical professor in the Warrington College of Business, has been named the inaugural AI2 Center Faculty Fellow. Hoover has an extensive background in analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, forecasting, and operations research, and directs the Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence Center housed in the ‘Warrington College. Hoover has provided leadership in building AI across the UF curriculum through numerous efforts outside of his faculty and director role. These contributions include participating in several UF AI committees, workgroups, trainings, and speaking engagements. During the 2023-2024 academic year, as the AI2 Center Faculty Fellow, Dr. Hoover will undertake an initiative to develop an AI-focused framework for courses that don’t traditionally include AI. This guide will focus on incorporating learning about AI and teaching about the implications of AI in solving problems by providing methods to effectively add AI to the pedagogic approach and resources to assist in the development of those approaches.
