Dr. Wei Shao, assistant professor of AI in quantitative health in the Department of Medicine, leads research on advanced artificial-intelligence frameworks for medical imaging. His work spans 3D/4D generative diffusion models, vision-language models, multi-modal data fusion, and rapid disease diagnosis via image-based, deep-learning systems. Dr. Shao also focuses on integrating these AI pipelines into clinical workflows, developing machine-learning algorithms for multimodal image registration, multi-object image segmentation, and image-to-image translation to improve diagnostic accuracy and patient care.
