Ashish Kumar Sahoo
HiPerGator Early Career Award
Awarded by UF Research Computing
Ashish Kumar Sahoo, a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Psychology, conducts interdisciplinary research at the intersection of cognitive neuroscience, artificial intelligence and behavioral science. His research employs deep-learning architectures, virtual-reality paradigms and neuroimaging (including fMRI) to study spatial navigation, event segmentation in brain and behavior, and how these abilities change with age and neurodegeneration. Sahoo’s work contributes to computational models that link brain structure to cognitive strategies, helping to reveal how humans navigate complex environments and how those mechanisms shift across the lifespan.
