Adrian Roitberg
AI Research Excellence Award
Awarded by Artificial Intelligence and Informatics Research Institute
Dr. Adrian Roitberg is the Frank E. Harris Professor of Theoretical Chemistry in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. A pioneer in AI for molecular simulation, he developed the ANI neural network models that replicate quantum mechanical precision at vastly reduced computational cost. His team’s recent HiPerGator-powered simulations recreated early-Earth chemistry using physics-informed AI—work that has reshaped computational chemistry worldwide. In being recognized, it was noted that his work continues to elevate UF’s standing in AI research and exemplifies the spirit of innovation and collaboration UF aims to foster across disciplines.
