Major: Biomedical Engineering
AI Research Interests: Tourette Syndrome (TS) treatment through Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) is hindered by subjective and inconsistent manual tic assessments, limiting therapy optimization. To address this, we propose to integrate advanced object detection models with synchronized electromyography (EMG) data, into an automated tic detector. Successful implementation could significantly enhance tic detection accuracy and efficiency, facilitating improved DBS programming and clinical outcomes for severe TS patients.
